Workouts getting a little stale? If you’re doing the typical cardio/ab days sprinkled in with split days for your back, chest, bi’s (blah, blah, blah), I can’t blame you. Booooring! Time to try something more exciting. Something high intensity. Something more PRODUCTIVE.
Give some CrossFit workouts a try. I’ve been doing CrossFit and creating my own CrossFit-inspired workout programs for 3 years now and I will never go back to boring isolated-movement weightlifting workouts. I’ve always been an athlete, and if you’re like me you need to fuel that need for competition in your workouts. Dubbed the “sport of fitness,” CrossFit does just that.
The workouts are challenging, yes, but they are scalable (to suit your own fitness level), they are never boring, and the incredible results CrossFit athletes get are always worth the work! CrossFitters have six-packs WITHOUT doing “ab days.” Intrigued yet?
CrossFit workouts (called WODs, aka, Workout of the Day) are posted on the CrossFit main site and the program is built around attaining generalized, overall, functional fitness. CrossFit workouts are ideal for anyone – beginner to elite – who wants to be fit, strong, look amazing, and get athletic.
CrossFit workouts are some of the best high intensity workouts out there – need proof? Check out the upcoming 2012 Reebok-sponsored CrossFit Games. The Open starts today (anyone from around the world can enter and the top athletes qualify for Regionals). For details on the CrossFit Games or if you just want to observe some of the fittest athletes on earth in action – wow, these men and women are just completely inspiring – check out the Reebok CrossFit Games site.
Get inspired (and then train hard),
Steph
